Spyridia Forum, a solo electronic project based out of St. Louis, operates in an experimental niche somewhere between the smooth sonics of deep house and the rougher, abrasive edges of techno and IDM. Although frequently chaotic, with heavily layered melodies, spliced vocals, and noisy synths, the order and simplicity of house music still lies at the project’s core. Sometimes narrative and sometimes impassioned, Spyridia Forum hopes to evoke emotion both in listeners wrapped in their bedsheets and contemplating a dark ceiling, and those entranced on the dancefloor.
